Day 2 Day in Hamburg?
After breakfast at your hotel, you are going on a two-hour walking tour mixing highlights, landmarks and many funny facts. Walk through beautiful canals and medieval streets, and discover how a small fishermen’s village became one of the world's most fascinating cities. After a well-deserved lunch, visit the Van Gogh Museum to learn about his (and his contemporaries') life and works.
Day 3 Train to Berlin + dinner at the TV tower
An early start so you can catch a train to Berlin. It's a six-hour journey, but there is interesting scenery and a bistro car. Arriving in Germany's capital in mid-afternoon, check into a junior suite at the Chateau Royal where there will be a complimentary welcome drink. There's time to explore the city before you go more than 200m high for a three-course panoramic meal with wine and beautiful views at the Berlin TV Tower.
Day 4 Leisure time and craft beer tour
Spend the morning and lunch at your leisure, before a one-of-a-kind craft beer tour, where you will sample beer at unique locations. Along the way, your expert guide will tell you about the local history of Berlin, its politics, culture and how they all relate to craft beer. A hot snack is included.
Day 5 Train to Prague
Today's train journey to Prague is a particularly scenic one, running past castles and alongside the Elbe river from Germany into Czechia before joining the Vlatava river, which it then crosses for the approach to Prague. We suggest a stay in the 4* Charles Bridge Palace, which has a fabulous location with gorgeous views over the Vlatava river.
Day 6 Explore Prague with a city pass
After breakfast, head off into Prague armed with your city pass giving you free access to the most popular attractions in Prague, a free bus tour that goes from the city centre to Prague Castle, a free cruise along the Vlatava river and free public transport throughout the city. Do everything at your own pace today, making the most of Czechia's beautiful capital.
Day 7 Train to Vienna + opera/classical concert
The scenic journey from Prague to Vienna takes about 4 hours, offers free wi-fi and has draught beer on tap. Check into Hotel Kaiserhof Wien, a gorgeous 4* that is centrally located but tucked away on a quiet side street. Once you are checked in, head off for coffee and cake at Cafe Central, which dates back to 1876, once housed the Vienna Stock Exchange and the National Bank, and counts Stalin, Trotsky and Freud as former patrons. In the evening, enjoy a classical concert or opera (depending on availability over your chosen dates of travel).
Day 8 Explore Vienna with a city pass
Early start to make the most of your Vienna city pass, which gives you unlimited access on the hop on, hop off bus, free public transport across the city and free entry into 70 of Vienna’s most popular attractions and museums, including the Imperial Palace and the Natural History Museum.
Day 9 Lipizzaner show + sleeper train to Paris
You have a full day in Vienna before your sleeper train to Paris this evening, so continue to use your city pass to explore, but also enjoy a show of the famous Lipizzaners at the Spanish Riding School (if a show is not available, you will be able to watch training or have a guided tour). Your train departs at 19:46, and if you are early you can wait for your train at OBB's lounge. Enjoy your own private sleeping compartment with a private shower, toilet and breakfast.
Day 10 Classic Paris tour in a Citroen 2CV
Hopefully you have had a great night's sleep on the train, and after a refreshing shower and breakfast, you will be ready for Paris! Arriving before 10am, you can leave your bags at the Grand Pigalle Hotel and head off for a tour of the French capital's most famous landmarks in a Citroen 2CV. Later, enjoy a visit to the summit of the Eiffel Tower with a glass of champagne.
Day 11 Louvre masterpieces and food/wine tour
You have a full day in Paris, and we suggest a tour of the masterpieces of the Louvre in the morning, followed by an Original Flavour of Paris food and wine tasting tour. Sample some of the best French fare on offer; from flaky croissants to heavenly chocolate, and of course, the classic combination of superb cheeses and wine.
Day 12 Return to the UK
Time to pack for the journey home. If you want to fit in an extra activity, then no problem, we will book a later Eurostar for you. We hope you have had a fantastic holiday packed with fun and memorable experiences.
